Endowed Gifts
An endowed gift to the University is a donation that is invested in the market, with other donations, in a permanent fund. Each year, a percentage of the investment income of your donation is used for the specified purpose (scholarships, faculty development, etc.) while the gift principal is preserved and grows over time. An endowed gift leaves a lasting legacy at Nebraska Wesleyan.
Gifts to the general University endowment create a permanent, self-sustaining source of funding that the University can count on year after year. That stable source of revenue is vital to the future success of the University.
What endowed funds support
Endowed funds can be established for almost any purposed at ¶¶ÒõÊÓƵ. You can give to the general endowment or specifically to support student scholarships, faculty development, athletic coaching, academic departments or other programs at ¶¶ÒõÊÓƵ.
Endowed Scholarships
Every year, more than 98% of our students receive scholarships and financial aid from the University. That’s possible only through the ongoing generosity of our alumni, parents and friends.
The threshold for establishing an endowed scholarship is $30,000 (may be funded in as many as five years). We’ll work with you to design the scholarship. You’ll be informed about the recipients of your scholarship and, if you wish, we’ll facilitate opportunities for you to meet your scholars. To establish your own endowed scholarship, contact Mary Hawk, associate vice president and campaign director.
