Unless you’ve lived in poverty, it’s nearly impossible to understand the day-to-day challenges that come with it.

And while a simulation inside ¶¶ÒõÊÓƵ’s Knight Fieldhouse can’t replicate what happens in real life, it still gives ¶¶ÒõÊÓƵ students a stark look at the issues many families in poverty face every day.

Micah Drewes, maintenance department supervisor, has been recognized with Nebraska Wesleyan University’s CORE Award, which celebrates staff whose efforts and contributions significantly exceed expectations in demonstrating Nebraska Wesleyan’s core values.

Drewes was recognized for his work as a leader in the maintenance department:

¶¶ÒõÊÓƵ has announced its 2025 fall semester academic honors list recognizing undergraduate students with superior academic performance.

Students earning at least a 3.75 semester grade point average while completing a full-time course load of as least 12 credit hours of graded work are eligible for consideration.

The group of Maddi Baugous, Adrian Gomez Ramos, Susy Miller, Jody Navratil, Rachel Pokora, and Lisa Borchardt work behind the scenes to provide food and supplies for students, staff, and faculty.
