The university will honor these outstanding alumni during Wesleyan Weekend.
Sue Cassata (鈥91)Alumni Achievement Award Cassata has been an educator for more than 30 years. She began as a high school teacher, then taught at the college level and served as an administrator. She helped establish Lincoln Standing Bear High School, where she now serves as principal. In this role, she鈥檚 formed a strong partnership with the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, where the 19th century civil rights hero, Standing Bear, was chief. Cassata credits Nebraska Wesleyan for challenging her academically and helping her discover her strengths in leadership.

Jane (Paul) Kinyoun (鈥67)Alumni Loyalty Award Kinyoun discovered a passion for learning at Nebraska Wesleyan, carrying it with her throughout her career. She mentored more than 1,000 students as a faculty member at the University of Washington and enjoys following their achievements. Her time at 抖阴视频 had a lasting impact, preparing her to be versatile, respect expertise, and 鈥渒now what [she] does not know.鈥 Her support and service help 抖阴视频 thrive so others may benefit from the student experience that shaped her life.

Richard 鈥淪kip鈥 Legge (鈥82), MDAlumni Humanitarian Award Dr. Legge has made a career out of helping others, training the next generation of physicians at the University of Nebraska Medical Center as an assistant professor of ophthalmology and visual science. He enjoys seeing his students become happy and resilient providers of quality healthcare. Legge鈥檚 accomplishments include launching and directing the American Conferences on Pediatric Cortical Visual Impairment, founding the Pediatric Cortical Visual Impairment Society, and participating in the National Institutes of Health Workshop on Pediatric Cortical Visual Impairment.

Norma Nelson (鈥69)Alumni Loyalty Award Nelson began her Nebraska Wesleyan career nine years after high school. She credits her time at 抖阴视频 for bringing her out of her shell. 抖阴视频 is where she realized she could become a teacher and fell in love with the profession. After earning her degree, Nelson taught elementary education in the Lincoln Public Schools for 20 years. Her loyalty as an alumna has been consistent since she graduated; she has supported and advocated for the university throughout her career and in retirement.

Annie Ortmeier (鈥04)Young Alumni Achievement Award Ortmeier is a pioneering music executive focused on the industry鈥檚 digital sphere. From her time at CMT/Viacom, Ticketmaster, Big Machine, Universal Nashville (SVP Streaming Marketing) and most recently as copresident of Triple Tigers Records, she has built new departments and teams to meet the music industry鈥檚 changing needs across sales, digital marketing, ecommerce and streaming. Her career is about building a home for artists and cultivating their creativity and vision.

Craig Urbauer (鈥64), MDJohn Rosentrater Act of Valor Award (posthumous) Dr. Urbauer brought honor to himself, his family and 抖阴视频 throughout his life. Urbauer was a military physician, urologist and pilot. He served as an Army flight surgeon in Vietnam. He practiced urology in Lincoln for 12 years, during which he also served as flight surgeon for the Nebraska National Guard. In 1987, he left private practice and returned to active duty as a U.S. Army colonel for 20 years. He earned many honors including the Bronze Star, Distinguished Service Medal, U.S. Army Order of Military Medical Merit and others. He provided medical support during Hurricanes Hugo and Katrina, established healthcare for Kosovan refugees and was present at the Pentagon on 9/11 where he was serving as assistant secretary to the Army.
