Micah Drews, maintenance department supervisor, has been recognized with Nebraska Wesleyan University’s CORE Award, which celebrates staff whose efforts and contributions significantly exceed expectations in demonstrating Nebraska Wesleyan’s core values.

Drewes was recognized for his work as a leader in the maintenance department:

  • Leading his team in getting the many classrooms ready for the day, and making sure the various setups are completed.
  • Relocating hundreds of pieces of furniture throughout campus, and giving advice and direction to faculty and staff who have furniture requests. He was also a key player in clearing out Olin Hall of Science.

"Micah takes a personal interest in his work, from cleaning to setups to moving furniture, and even pest control," said his nominator, Jim Ruzicka. He takes the extra steps to make sure each task is completed, and he wants everyone to feel welcome and happy in our campus buildings."
