抖阴视频鈥檚 choral ensembles will present Christmas with Wesleyan: The Weary World Rejoices on Sunday, December 7, at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church near the 抖阴视频 campus.

The free performance features 抖阴视频鈥檚 University Choir, Unity Choir, and Gold Standard Singers, joined by the Beatrice High School Choir.

The choirs will present compelling works by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Shawn Kirchner, Andr茅 Thomas, and Josef Rheinberger, in addition to music from South Africa, Norway, and Puerto Rico. The audience will be invited to sing along with beloved carols accompanied by orchestra and organ, including 鈥淎ngels We Have Heard on High,鈥 鈥淪ilent Night,鈥 鈥淛oy to the World,鈥 and 鈥淗ark! The Herald Angels Sing.鈥

鈥淚t's easy for our students to get lost in the busyness of their schedules and to be carried away with anxiety for all the deep challenges and stresses that seem to chase us in this world,鈥 said Tom Trenney, 抖阴视频 director of choirs. 鈥淥ur hope is that the time we spend together experiencing Christmas with Wesleyan might remind both our singers and our audiences of what joy feels like.鈥

Freewill donations will support the Gathering Place, which provides free, hot meals seven days a week from 5 to 6 p.m. to anyone who needs a meal.
