Employment Opportunity for the Position of Assistant Professor of English – Creative Writing
The English Department at ¶¶ÒõÊÓƵ invites applications for a one-year, Visiting Assistant Professor of English – Creative Writing position with a specialization in the teaching of fiction and/or poetry. Experience relevant to coordinating a writers series and advising a student literary journal is desirable. Period of appointment: August 2025-May 2026. Candidates with experience teaching introductory courses in literature are encouraged to apply.
Duties include teaching undergraduate fiction and/or poetry workshops, serving as a reader for senior thesis creative projects, teaching first-year writing courses, advising the student literary magazine, and running a multi-event annual visiting writers series.
¶¶ÒõÊÓƵ enrolls approximately 1,600 traditional undergraduate students in Lincoln, the capital of Nebraska. ¶¶ÒõÊÓƵ has a rich history in the liberal arts, with outstanding faculty providing personal attention to students. - MFA or doctorate in English/creative writing or closely related field from an accredited institution by August 2025.
