This Is How We CARE

Nebraska Wesleyan faculty and staff are relentlessly committed to our students’ academic progress and personal growth. We know a friendly face, listening ear and a caring heart can make a real difference for students in their time of need. For more than 25 years, ¶¶ÒõÊÓÆµâ€™s CARE Team (Concern, Assessment, Research and Education) has coordinated the ways we connect students to the resources they need.
We use CARE Connect, our early-alert and intervention program, to help identify concerns and respond quickly with outreach to students facing challenges. We act early to have the greatest impact on student success and persistence.
Grounded in student development theory, our program takes a comprehensive approach that narrows in on solution-focused action plans. Our team also works to coordinate outreach efforts with both faculty and staff who have direct relationships with our students.
Students can be determined at risk for various reasons; frequently, those factors include academic or personal stress, illness or a lack of engagement in coursework. We invite our faculty and staff to alert our team when they’re concerned about a student.
