Michael Nolan, PhD, LAT, ATC

Dr. Michael Nolan earned his PhD in Health Sciences in Athletic Training at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. He has a B.S. in Athletic Training from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and an M.S.Ed. in Kinesiology from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He joined the faculty of ¶¶ÒõÊÓÆµ in the fall of 2025. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance and serves as the Coordinator of Clinical Education in the Master of Science in Athletic Training program. He brings clinical experience into the classroom, having served as an athletic trainer in the clinical setting for over a decade. He has been a clinical athletic trainer at Missouri Baptist University, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, and AAA minor league baseball. He can still be found with a sling pack and AT bag on occasion at area sporting events to stay current in clinical practice. 😎
He has been teaching full-time in higher education since 2018 and brings over 20 years of teaching experience to the classroom. At Nebraska Wesleyan, he is committed to turning theory into action—empowering students through hands-on learning and real-world experiences.
He is married to his wife, Whitney, and has three children: Madelyn, Katelyn, and Grant.
