Eligibility requirements

Thank you for your interest in the 2026 GBHEM United Methodist Church Scholarship Program. To be considered, you must:

• be an incoming college first-year student or a current first-year student, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled in an accredited institution in the United States.
• be an active member of a United Methodist Church
• maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale.
• have not exceeded the maximum eligibility of seven (7) award years for GBHEM scholarships; applicants cannot be considered for an eighth (8th) year.

NOTE: Scholarships offered by GBHEM are separate from those offered by the (UMHEF). You are welcome to apply for awards from both GBHEM and UMHEF but must submit separate applications provided by each office. UMHEF scholarship opportunities are for students enrolled in United Methodist related institutions only.
